The University of Saint Francis Discovery Academy is dedicated to shaping the future of young minds through engaging and immersive camp experiences. Our collection of discipline-focused camps is designed to foster the academic interests of students in grades K-12. By bringing young people to a college campus, and nurturing their academic interests, we set the stage for future academic ambition and success.
At the heart of our programs are hands-on activities that captivate young minds and provide a glimpse into the exciting career options within each discipline. Beyond academic exploration, we offer unique leadership opportunities to empower students, stoking the development of leadership skills within their schools and communities.
The Value of a College Campus Experience
The University of Saint Francis Discovery Academy recognizes the critical importance of early exposure to a college campus in shaping a student’s academic preparation. We aim to address the need for improved college readiness, encompassing the essential skills, knowledge, and mindset conducive to successful participation in college-level courses.
By introducing students to the college environment at an early stage, the USF Discovery Academy helps campers feel more comfortable and confident in seeking post-secondary educational opportunities. In each Discovery Academy camp experience, campers meet and develop relationships with USF faculty, work in USF’s facilities and labs, and, most importantly, experience immersive learning opportunities with their peers. We believe that by fostering an early connection with a college campus, students are better equipped to apply to and excel in postsecondary education, setting them on a trajectory for a fulfilling academic journey.
