Medieval Monasticism Camp
Step back in time to 800 A.D. and discover the fascinating world of Medieval Ireland! Immerse yourself in the lives of Irish monastics, whose intricate artwork was so awe-inspiring that it was called “the work of angels.” Over the course of a week, campers will experience the beauty, creativity, and challenges of monastic life through hands-on activities like singing, gardening, cooking, and bookmaking. At the end of the camp, you’ll take home your own hand-bound, beautifully illustrated book, written in your own calligraphy.
But life in Medieval Ireland wasn’t always serene—monastics also faced the looming threat of Viking invasions. Learn about the fierce Vikings, witness a live fighting demonstration, and even practice defending yourself against a simulated raid!
The Medieval Monasticism Camp is designed for both boys and girls.
All meals included.
